I was not sure what to expect, but I can honestly say that I felt that I was staying in a mini palace. It was super clean and comfortable rooms with a great bathroom. The location was perfect! I will stay here again when I return to that area. We truly enjoyed our stay. The owner was so hospitable and helpful in every way! Wonderful place!

A very quiet and beautiful location. We loved the wooden bungalow and felt very warm and comfortable. Decorated with thought and character and had a fantastic shower. The kettle in the room was a bonus as us English like our cups of tea in the morning. Lovely breakfast with lots of choice of homemade or local produce. The host was friendly and helpful. A very enjoyable stay.

Located in the centre of Manteigas, Casa D’Avenida is a newly renovated family house, sited within the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. We have never experienced greater hospitality than here. Josefa and Maria Lourdes are the perfect hosts. We had long and good conversations, although we don’t speak Portugese and they don’t speak much English -no problem. Breakfast was plentiful and of high quality; freshly squeezed orange juice and many different local cheeses as highlights. The possibility to have coffee and home baked cake whenever you wanted, the invitation to take snacks for the coming day from the breakfast buffé….kindness at its best. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. Value for money is excellent and we highly recommend a stay at Casa d’Avenida. Obrigada Josefa and Maria Lourdes!

Located in the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela, this 19th century building of granite stone offers traditional rooms with balconies. We felt very welcome since the beginning, our dog was allowed everywhere and everything was easygoing. Great location, surrounded by nature. Very tasty and varied breakfast. We'll return for sure.

Located at the foot of the Serra da Estrela mountain range, in the town of Manteigas, this hotel offers elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi. Free parking is possible on site. An amazing fireplace kept us warm on cold evenings — we spent all our time in front of it. The hostess (unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name) was kind and welcoming, and helped us with everything we needed. There’s also a large parking area, so no need to worry about that. I recommend to try goat cheese at the breakfast.

Cant say enough about this little gem, Carla was so helpful from where to eat, how to get there best,what was going on and even popped to the shop to get me a cold cerveza, The room was fantastic, and had safe secure parking for my motorcycle, wouldn't hesitate to stay again, lovely experience.
