Cat Ba Mystery is exceptional, offering genuine warmth and hospitality. Thanh greeted us warmly, even letting us choose the room we felt most comfortable in. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained. Thanh and her lovely family genuinely care about their guests—she was especially thoughtful and attentive to my partner when she wasn't feeling well. Thanh made our stay stress-free by helping arrange anything we needed: laundry, scooter rentals, bicycles, taxis, boat tours, bus tickets, and fantastic local restaurant suggestions. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully tailored to our preferences. We enjoyed our stay so much—and there's so much to see and do from Cat Ba—that we even extended our visit. If you need anything during your stay, just ask Thanh directly. She genuinely wants guests to feel at home and comfortable, and she'll happily assist you straight away rather than having you wait or struggle with anything. Highly recommended—this homestay is outstanding value and truly welcoming.

Wow!!!! This place was perfect!! Great location, super clean, i mean so clean you could literally eat off the floor!! Beautiful smoking lounge on the rooftop. Great location with a short walk to the center. We had breakfast every morning prepared by the owners wife that was absolutely delicious and the highlight was when the owner Mr Throng would come up to your table each morning with his own home brewed fruity Rice wine and pour you a shot with him and say “This is how we say good morning in vietnam” and believe me it was good, so good i asked him for a second round ;) Mr throng was very helpful with booking us an excursion the first day and renting his bike, he even pulled out a map of the island explaining to us in detail what route to take to get to the near by attractions and how long it would take and timed it perfectly so that we would reach the Jetty on the otherside of the island on time for a beautiful sunset. he even advised us about the money exchange rates in Cat ba advising us to try our best to pay by card or local currency and to save our dollars to exchange them in a bigger city so that the we would get a higher rate. his genuine character and warm personality made our stay in Cat ba a memorable one for sure! Would definitely without a doubt recommend Cat ba central homestay to anyone that is planing to visit and would definitely stay here if we ever return to cat bar in the future!!!!

It was located close to the bay (5min walk) but in an alley so there was not too much noise! The place was SO CLEAN and really beautifully decorated !! There are a lot of places close by to eat.

The team at reception were kind and attentive, always with a smile, which made a big difference to my experience. The breakfast buffet was generous with both Western and Vietnamese options, all delicious. I joined one of the Lan Ha Bay excursions and it turned out to be a highlight — the scenery was breathtaking and the trip ran very smoothly.

The staff here are bloody legends — always smiling, super helpful, and just make you feel right at home. The room was roomy as, bed comfy as anything, and the shower had cracking water pressure (none of that weak drizzle stuff). Location’s spot on — right in the thick of it, close to everything you’d wanna see or do in Cat Ba. Honestly, couldn’t have picked a better spot if I tried.
