Excellent communal areas. Made it really easy to make friends and connect with other travellers. Breakfast was good for value, and the staff were hospitable and warm.

Positives: very social hostel, clean room, comfortable bed, towels provided, pub crawl was super fun, showers and toilets were clean and employees were super kind. Only negative: costs of a private room, but it seems like every private room/accommodation is insanely expensive in Edinburgh. FYI: don’t forget a tenner in cash as a deposit for the key, else you’ll have to give your passport as a deposit which can be a little impractical.
