Really enjoyed it here. Would definitely recommend.

The cosy hostel is conveniently located near the awe-inspiring Kuirau Park, featuring captivating geothermal wonders. Guests can explore tranquil forest trails, experience heart-pumping bike rides, relax in natural hot springs, and immerse themselves in Maori culture. Great hostel to stay, dorms have a curtain for privacy which is amazing. Common areas are like brand new. Staff was really nice and helped us plan our stay around.

Buried Village is 15 km from the hostel and Tikitere - Hell's Gate Thermal Park is 17 km away. Great location, very central and easy to walk to most things. The beds are really comfy and the area was quiet. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The kitchen is well-equipped and kept very clean.

Children are permitted to stay at Rotorua Central Backpackers but must be accompanied by an adult and either stay in a private room or a privatised dorm. An accompanying adult, staying in the hostel at the same time, can provide consent for a child to stay in a private room alone. Centrally located and reasonably priced, this is a good place to stay for a night or two if you are looking for a budget-friensky option in Rotorua.
