Situated on a working cattle farm, this charming 100 year old Queenslander makes for the perfect country getaway. Renovated in the 90's the Blair Downs farm house is in the perfect location for those looking for a quiet weekend away, or anyone looking to explore the beautiful Noosa hinterland. A half hour drive to the beaches and restaurants of Noosa, 10 minutes from the peaceful Lake Cootharaba, and quaint township of Boreen Point, an hours drive to Rainbow Beach and two hours from Brisbane.
Hello and welcome to Blair Downs. I have been hosting this property for almost 2 years now and love the area and the homeliness of this property. With just a 25 minute drive to Noosa, a 20 minute drive to Pomona or a 35 minute drive to Gympie you are just far enough to be in the country and close enough to explore the surroundings. I live down the road so you have complete privacy but I am also available to come if any issues arise. However, our availability will be discussed with individual guests prior to, or on, arrival. I am happy to answer any questions you may have and welcome you to our country home.
There are so many things to do in the area. Close to home:
- Boreen Point 10min drive, sits on the beautiful Cootharaba Lake. It boasts the famous Apollonian Hotel where something is on every night and the Sunday BBQ is not to be missed. Elanda Eco Villiage has a lovely brewery and restaurant as well as an amazing view of the lake. Tours run to the Everglades from here or rent a kayak and get out into the Noosa Biosphere.
- Kin Kin 10 min drive, is a small town with a monthly market on the first Sunday. The newly opened Kin Kin Hotel has just been renovated and is a wonderful atmosphere for dinner and drinks. The Black Ant across the street is a great lunch spot.
- Pomona 20 min drive, has a weekly Saturday market and is busting with charm. There are cafe's and restaurants, bakeries and an IGA. The gin at the Pomona Distilling Co. is a highlight as well as the silent Saturday cinema.
- Cooroy 25 min drive, Hinterland Brewing Co is a must visit for their award winning brews and rustic atmosphere.
- Noosa 25min drive, has everything you could need. World class beaches and surfing as well as a variety of restaurants, breweries, cafe's and bars. Noosa National Park has breathtaking views with dramatic scenery and hikes for all abilities. Check out their website for more information.
- Gympie 35 min drive, has markets, cafe's, and more.
