'Bogong' a perfect romantic couples retreat all year round; original architecturally designed chalet by Peter McIntyre. It has been lovingly refurbished in 2015 by its new owners; a uniquely charming alpine accommodation experience.
My husband Alastair and I live on the shores of Lake King in East Gippsland. I am a passionate gardener, history teacher and piano player. Alastair is a winemaker who trained in the Yarra Valley on the outskirts of Melbourne; and now makes beautiful wines in the Gippsland Lakes District. We stumbled upon our little chalet at Dinner Plain by chance just before Christmas 2014 and we fell in love with it immediately. Alastair spent his childhood growing up in a house designed by the same architect; Professor Peter McIntyre, so stepping into 'Bogong' just felt like coming home. We have spent many hours and weekends working on our little home in order to restore its unique charm and character. We adore spending time together up in the high country in all the seasons; we love the natural beauty of the snowgums and the neverending vistas of perfection. This is a self contained home away from home. Should you encounter any difficulties or require any assistance we have someone on hand to make your stay trouble free and memorable. We are also very happy for you to contact us by telephone should you need to.
Dinner Plain is a picturesque high plain village which is located only 10 minutes drive from the ski fields of Mt Hotham. Dinner Plain is filled with unique architectural chalets which create a wonderful alpine atmosphere. We are centrally located in the heart of the village so there is no need to drive anywhere. Walk to restaurants, bars, sublimely beautiful alpine walking tracks, beginner ski run, toboggan zone..........
