Hi, we're Kellie and Roumen. We're a couple with a little girl who love to travel. We fell in love with the SA south coast area while visiting Port Elliott and staying with friends during school holidays for a number of years. After managing to secure our own holiday house in Chiton, we spent a few months renovating it to make it the best possible family escape with special attention to fun for kids. The end result is beyond what we initially imagined. Chiton Breeze has everything for family groups to make long-lasting memories while experiencing the best surf beaches and what the Fleurieu region has to offer. Chiton (pronounced kai tn), nestled between Hayborough and Port Elliott, is home to some of the best surf beaches on SA's south coast. The beach in front of Chiton Rocks Surf Lifesaving Club is patrolled by surf lifesavers on weekends and public holidays from October to April. It's the ideal spot to safely build up confidence in the surf. The Surf Lifesaving Club houses the Chiton Beach Cafe. Open Fridays to Sundays, you can enjoy the million-dollar ocean views on the level 1 deck while kicking off your weekend with a coffee and late brekky, while grabbing a quick lunch on a day at the beach or while enjoying a glass of wine with dinner as the sun sets over the hills. Kids will love exploring the famous Chiton Rocks circular rock formation where they might be lucky enough to spot starfish or the occasional sea horse. The best time to have a look is during low tide when you can walk into the centre of the formation. Being perfectly situated in the middle of the coastal stretch between Encounter Bay and Goolwa, Chiton is the best spot to base yourself when exploring the south coast. All areas are a few short minutes in the car. Hayborough (1 min), McCracken (3 min), Victor Harbor (5 min) and Encounter Bay (10 min) to the west, and Port Elliott (3 min), Middleton (7 min) and Goolwa (14 min) to the east. Or for the active family members, hop on your bike for an early morning bike ride along the Encounter Bikeway which passes through Chiton as it connects Rosetta Head (also known as The Bluff) in Encounter Bay through to Goolwa for an incredible scenic ride.
