Situated in the main street just 800 metres from the beach. It is a quiet and peaceful end of town. There are many restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Free onsite parking and free WI-FI is available for all our guests. Our property was built in the Art Deco style, and wherever possible, we have tried to be sensitive to this style. The only exception to this is our Gallery Executive Studio at ground level which has been decorated in modern rustic. We are down the quiet end of the main street away from most of the noise. But we are within walking distance of all main attractions and most restaurants. We are not your usual B&B where guests combine in communal areas, we are boutique and everyone has their own privacy. A continental breakfast is located within your room with the exception of Yoghurt as we found this was not used and would spoil, but juice, bread, spreads, milk, tea, coffee etc are there for multiple usage. There is a balcony and a smoking area located outside, but within the premises we are a smoke free establishment. If you are polite, thankful and respectful, you are more than welcome to book and stay. No reception, key instructions sent.
We established this business with the intent of it being a home away from home. All rooms are of exceptional quality. No expense has been spared. Whatever room is booked, be it the King Deluxe, Executive Studio, & Executive Apartment, all are luxurious & amazing and now we also offer Hollywood House, located next door to the main property and this can be booked as a whole house with minimum 2 night stay. It is Art Deco inspired and features Hollywood memorabilia. It has two Queen size beds and two single beds. It features games and activities for children. Both properties offer an old world charm that so many of our clients just keep returning for. The King Deluxe also known as the Marilyn, is so chic and opulent with Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. The Executive Studio also known as The Gallery, features photographic works by Tasmanian photographer Aaron Jones capturing his countless trips to Cradle Mountain and beyond. This room features a five metre wall covered in one large landscape of Cradle Mountain with Dove Lake in the foreground. Its like camping out under the stars. We know you will enjoy your stay here with us at Jones On Wilson Boutique B&B.
The Penguin Observatory and Paper Makers Workshop are all within walking distance or 3 minutes by car. The beautiful beach is 800 metres away and offers fine dining at Bay Views restaurant or casual dining underneath at the incredibly popular Fish Fenzy - a favourite haunt of the B&B owners. Just 150 metres away is Indian Corner a beautiful Indian restaurant and another favourite of the owners. The City is vey well layed out and has many car parks. Burnie was once known as home of the famous APPM pulp mill. This has long since closed and the town had to reinvent its self into a tourist destination. Burnie hosts several cruise ships every Summer. It is a tranquil peaceful location to stay especially if you are looking to get away from the metropolitan cities within the Nation's capitals. The locals are friendly and helpful. We are able to point you to the nearest platypus viewing area 3 kms from our house and if you stay quiet, you will be able to get a picture of this elusive animal.
