We are located on 5 acres and have abundant wildlife such as Kangaroos, Kookaburras, Parrots. Very quiet and peaceful but just 5 minutes off the Bruce Highway and 10 minutes from Gympie. This is a private home offering home-stay accommodation. We have recently added Glamping Tents to our selection of rooms. Some rooms have private facilities and some shared bathroom and kitchen. We are definitely not luxury accommodation, we are however very hands on and like to chat with our guests to encourage them to feel a home atmosphere rather than motel style.
After many years as a tour guide I decided to retire! But hospitality is a part of me and found myself opening my house to like minded people who are keen to meet the locals and enjoy home hospitality. My dream was always to be able to offer a friendly atmosphere, affordable accommodation and a place where travelers would feel at home. Together with my mother we are happy to meet travelers from all walks of life.
Close to Gympie. Easy drive to Tin Can Bay & Rainbow Beach and world famous Fraser Island. Tiaro hippie shop, bridges and retro cafe 20 minutes north. Close to National Parks and bushwalking, and dams. Great for photography. We are a rural setting and not close to shops or restaurants, however we have kitchens available for you to use for preparation of your meals. (Currently we have a small shop on the premises and takeaway frozen meals and basic needs are available) We have a local chemist shop and service station complex just 4km away, however the main town is Gympie.
