The Anchorage cottage is unique in its central location to American River highlights.Its newly restored decor captures the Retro era with all the luxury essentials to make your stay more confortable.It is ideal for chilling out and enjoying what Kangaroo Island is known for.The stunning views,wildlife,fishing,boating,surfing,beaches,hiking and dinning all within a small walk from the cottage.American River is the ideal central location for touring Kangaroo Island whether it be day trips to East,West,North or South it makes the perfect coming back home location.Its sheltered river and fish reserve at Pelican lagoon is very protected from the nearby hills so many days are glassy on the water when other areas could be windy.You will enjoy this beautiful town and the Anchorage Cottage and the sheltered decking for outside dining.
I have been on Kangaroo Island for 25 years and still pinch myself in the quality of life here.I run an Electrical contracting Business"K.I.Electrical"and my wife and I run a Thai restaurant''K.I.Tru Thai"on our property 10 min.from American River.Between the two businesses we are busy but we try to enjoy weekends on Kangaroo Island and American River.We bought The Anchorage cottage 18 months ago as we loved it and its location.Since then we have extensively restored and upgraded it to what standards we enjoy when we travel over seas or on the mainland.We know what we expect and my wife has worked for Motels and house keeping.
The Anchorage Cottage is close to the famous Oyster shop,The Deck Cafe,"'The Shed"Restaurant,K.I.Tru Thai Restaurant,American River Wharf and fishing Charters,Boat ramp,Public Tennis and Basket ball courts,playground,free public sheltered BBQ area,The Mecure Restaurant,Glossy Black restaurant,Ballast Head walking trail,Pelican Lagoon walking trail,dragon Boat rowing club and more.It is a very beautiful village and The Anchorage cottage is with in 2 min. walk of all of this yet is very quiet and private.
