We are a small & intimate hotel offering 3 spacious rooms with private bath, a central socializing area, garden patio, an upstairs deck with hammocks, a front deck sitting area and a patio for viewing the local bird life or just relaxing. We are located in a relatively secluded area of Crooked Tree as we say "far from the maddening crowd". Its a great location to start or end your BELIZE vacation! We don't offer alcoholic beverages but a variety is available in the village itself.
Breakfast is included in the cost of accommodation which is served daily at 7 am, guests may request an earlier or later time.
Dinner is also available upon request at a reasonable price, this is served at 7pm each evening. We cater to your meal requests; vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free or no specialty.
Please be patient with us, due to our rural location our WIFI service can be unreliable at times, we are presently working out the kinks and should have better service soon. Please refrain from making large downloads and use the service principally for social media and emails. We'd also like to reiterate that we are unable to accept payment via credit cards, its either US and BZ cash or via PayPal.
My name is Becky, owner and operator of the B & B. I am the mother of 3 adult children and 10 grandchildren, 3 of whom reside in the village. My husband Robert and I reside onsite along with our dog Smokey. I have a sister who also reside in the community. We are active members in our local church and I enjoy cooking and gardening.
Both Robert and I have lived in the United States, before moving back home permanently.
We are situated on a private and secluded five acres in the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, a world renowned wetland area for birds and other wildlife. The B&B is located in a beautiful and pine forest and 10 minutes driving from the lagoon and the centre of the village.
Established around 1750 during the logwood period, Crooked Tree is perhaps the earliest inland European settlement in Belize. This island, in the middle of Crooked Tree Lagoon system, is famous for locally grown and processed cashews. The Cashew Festival in May celebrates the many products of the cashew: stewed cashews, wines, jams, syrup, cookies, cake, fudge and cashew nuts. Festival attendees also enjoy live music, dancing, games, storytelling, and friendly people. Accommodations are available for overnight visits and our guides can arrange walking, boating, or horseback-riding tours around the Village.
Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, the first Wildlife Sanctuary declared by the Government of Belize, was gazetted on December 8, 1984. On August 22, 1998, Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary was declared Belize’s first Ramsar site based on the wetland’s significance, especially as a waterfowl habitat.
