This low-rise, heritage controlled neighbourhood has many fitness resources (outdoor roller/ice skating oval, Olympic size swimming pool, bouldering cafe). There are lots of good cafe's and restaurants nearby. There is a craft brewery, artisanal delicatessen and many artist run galleries and shops nearby. And nothing in downtown Halifax is more than a comfortable walk away so the list of things to do includes deep sea fishing, whale watching, kayaking, seadooing and sailing cruises on the Halifax Waterfront, theatre, live music, pubbing and clubbing in the downtown and lots of shops and restaurants catering to a wide range of interests and tastes. Halifax is home to six universities and so has a large and vibrant student scene (closest is NSCAD our fine arts university - so many artists reside in the area).
