Chalet Sterndolde Penthouse is a modern 2-bedroom holiday apartment centrally located in the family-friendly "car-free" mountain village and ski resort of Wengen. This wonderful top-floor apartment has views of the stunning Lauterbrunnen Valley from its west-facing balcony. Chalet Sterndolde is located 140 metres (2 minutes walk) from central Wengen, the train station, supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Taxis are available for hire at Wengen station upon arrival if required. The stylish open-plan living and dining space, with a natural wood ceiling and Scandinavian log burner, gives this a classic modern Alpine chalet-style feel. The panoramic glazed doors to the balcony offer superb views of the mountains and open out onto the west-facing balcony space, perfect for outside dining. The kitchen is well-equipped for “home” cooking and entertaining. It includes an electric ceramic hob, fan-assisted oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The apartment has two bedrooms and one bathroom. Bedroom 1 is the spacious master bedroom with a king-size double bed (160 x 200 cm). Bedroom 2 has two single beds (90 x 200 cm). This property is located in Wengen, a stunning alpine village in the heart of the Jungfrau Region. Important: Wengen is a car-free mountain village with no road access. Private vehicles are not allowed. There is no road to drive to Wengen. The only way to access Wengen is by train. Guests must drive to the village of Lauterbrunnen, located in the valley below, where you will find a large multi-storey parking garage next to the Lauterbrunnen train station. You must park your car there for the duration of your stay. From Lauterbrunnen, it’s a 12-minute scenic train ride up the mountain to Wengen. Trains run regularly throughout the day and well into the evening. Once you arrive in Wengen, taxis are available to take you and your luggage to the apartment, if needed.
