What I love most about the apartment is the amount of natural light, and the sunny balconies. You get an extra half hour of sunshine on the top balcony, too - perfect for a glass of wine on a summer evening. Because it is at the end of the building it gets the best views and most sunlight. The kithchen / dining area / sitting room is great for socialising, so the chef never feels excluded
I bought the apartment as it has the perfect location, in my opinion. Being a keen skier, I can access the pistes very easily, especially with the new Grindelwald 'V' bahn, yet I can be in the centre of Bern in an hour, and swimming in a lake in just a few minutes. I love the Bernese Oberland in summer and winter - totally different but both breathtaking!
From the sitting room you can see the village square, where there is a Christmas market and other events during the year. Matten is a charming place with traditional Swiss buildings and a really friendly feel, yet it's only a 12 minute walk into the centre of Interlaken. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, you really feel you're in Switzerland!
