A beautiful sun-filled, comfortably furnished studio awaits you. The special decor comes from all 4 points of the compass, where we lived before we found our home in Lenk. It is located in a very quiet area, right next to the Mauren ski slope and hiking trails. So you can step straight from your bed into your hiking boots or ski boots and enjoy your favorite hobby.
The studio has its own entrance, a lovely veranda with seating area and small rose garden, fire bowl and mini barbecue. Your free exclusive parking space is right next to the studio on the roadside. If you wish, you can relax in a hammock.
The studio has an en-suite bathroom and an adjoining room with an icebox and coffee table. We provide you with coffee, tea, chocolate powder, organic granola, coffee cream, milk and yogurt from the local dairy for your entire stay. This room is also good for storing your suitcases, jackets, hiking boots and ski boots to give you more space in the studio.
The kitchenette is fully equipped and has everything you need to prepare Fondue and Raclette.
Check-in is easy with a key safe at your front door. The code will be sent to you. A catalog in the room describes Netflix and Wifi access, and everything else worth knowing. For more information, we are of course always there for you and are happy to help.
We welcome well behaved dogs. Please note the additional cleaning fee of 35CHF per stay will be charged separately. Please contact me before bringing your pet.
The tourist tax of 5CHF per person/per night will also be charged separately.
Your hosts, Yvonne and Thomas, will be happy to welcome you personally.
About Yvonne: I am a Swiss hotel manageress who grew up in the hospitality industry and trained at the 'École Hôtelière de Lausanne'. My motto is: THE CUSTOMER IS KING. My main concern is your comfort and well-being during your stay with us. It is very important to me that you can relax, unwind and return home filled with wonderful experiences.
As a passionate cook, I can offer you in-house catering on advance booking. Email me before your trip if you would like to enjoy a wonderfully prepared meal in the privacy of your studio.
We live in the main house above the studio and are at your disposal if you need additional services such as laundry washing and drying, information about places of interest in the village, excursion destinations depending on fitness, where to eat, what and where to explore.
I am a returning Swiss National, after 40 years in Africa where I spent 20 years as a pilot in Kenya and the Congo and 20 years as a coach and therapist in South Africa. My husband Thomas is Scottish from South Africa, founded and managed a large IT company there, and then switched to the wellness sector with therapy and coaching. My hobbies are horse riding, skiing, hiking, dancing and supporting the husky and wolf sanctuary in South Africa. And Tom enjoys swimming in the local indoor pool, hiking and cycling are also on his list, and he is and remains a magician with computers and programming.
Our hearts are so very grateful that we have been able to settle here, find peace and grow roots in this beautiful Simmental.
I look forward to making your stay memorable!
Our chalet is located in a quiet residential area in a cul-de-sac with no through traffic. The picturesque village offers good restaurants, a heated public swimming pool with sauna and giant jacuzzi, ski school, sports and leisure stores with ski and bike rental, bakery, milk and cheese store, village butcher, Coop and several other stores - all within a radius of only 700 m (~10 minutes walk).
There are many wonderful walks and bike rides in the Simmental and, for the more adventurous, more strenuous alpine trails leading higher into the surrounding mountains.
Lenk train station is at the end of the railroad line from Zweisimmen and there are regular bus services in and around the village during the day. These buses connect the central village with the four ski lifts located in the immediate vicinity of the village and also go out to the outlying areas. Lenk has a transportation company that offers private cab and shuttle services, but visitors should book early to ensure availability. Lenk has a friendly tourist office whose staff will assist you with all sightseeing, ticket orders and transportation reservations.
