Hi! We are Paula and Pavel, a Chilean–Czech couple who turned our dream into reality: La Frontera, our home and Bed & Breakfast in the heart of Cochamó Valley.
Our house is located along the Cochamó River, surrounded by native forest where nature has created a magical and welcoming atmosphere—perfect to relax, slow down, and reconnect with yourself and the landscape around you.
We are just 8 km from the town of Cochamó, 5 km from the Reloncaví Fjord, and only 500 meters from the trailhead to the iconic Cochamó Valley, known for its majestic granite walls and pristine forests.
In 2016, we began building our dream: a hexagonal wooden house, designed by Pavel and built with our own hands in a place without electricity or modern infrastructure. We chose the hexagon for its natural harmony and cozy feel. At the heart of the house, a warm common space with a fireplace welcomes our guests to enjoy a coffee, read a book, or share stories.
Staying true to our values, our home is off the grid, powered entirely by solar energy, offering comfort while remaining in harmony with nature.
We look forward to welcoming you into our home and sharing with you this special corner of the world, where simplicity, authenticity, and the beauty of nature come together.
I, Paula, am Chilean, a Civil Industrial Engineer, Coach in Applied Neuroscience and Emotional Management, and EFT Tapping practitioner. For years I have guided hundreds of people to lead their own lives with clarity and purpose—just as Pavel and I did when we decided to follow our dreams and create a life connected to nature.
Our journey began in 2008, when we met in New Zealand. After getting married in 2009, we lived between Chile and England, and traveled through inspiring places like India, Nepal, and Morocco. Those journeys planted the seed of what would one day become La Frontera.
Pavel, originally from the Czech Republic, is a journalist with a degree in Environmental Studies. He is also the visionary builder and designer of our home. Inspired by traditional Japanese architecture and sustainable construction methods, he turned our vision boards into reality—constructing our hexagonal house with his own hands, in a remote valley without electricity, surrounded only by mountains and forest.
His deep love for nature and the mountains eventually brought us here, to the Cochamó Valley, where we found our place in the world.
Today, La Frontera is not just a bed & breakfast—it is our dream come true. A place built with love and intention, where we invite you to disconnect, recharge, and reconnect with yourself in the heart of pristine nature.
In our place you can enjoy swimming in the wonderful river pools, fishing, walking the old path along the Cochamó river (which connected with Argentina) or simply relax under the shade of native tree.
We are located at 8 km from the town of Cochamó, 5 km from Reloncaví Fiord and 500 meters from the trailhead to the La Junta.
La Junta is an impressive place, surrounded by huge granite walls, native forests, rivers, waterfalls and natural water slides. In recent years it has become a popular destination for climbers for its huge granite walls, but it is also a great destination for trekking, fishing, or just to enjoy nature. The fact that can only be reached on foot or horseback, after about 4 to 6 hours, allowed to preserve the environment and the purity of the place.
Cochamó is a very nice little town on the banks of Reloncaví's fiord, with a beautiful view of the Yates Volcano is the perfect place for a kayak ride or visit the waterfront and the beautiful church.
Here you will find many typical restaurants. Also in the village there are several places you can find WiFi.
