The village of Barichara was founded in 1705 by a Spanish captain. Famous for its colonial architecture with whitewashed houses, Barichara is also the ideal place for nature lovers with its many excursions in the surroundings. Barichara is one of Colombia's national monuments. A place that is also on the list of UNESCO heritage sites and in the Colombian network of heritage cities. In Guanese, the local dialect, its name means "place of rest". The cobblestone streets, white houses and quiet atmosphere of the village of Barichara give it an undeniable charm (Barichara is reputed to be the most beautiful village in Colombia and we agree with that!) From its viewpoints, the Andes and the Suarez Canyon are breathtaking.
