Guatapé and El Peñol are 2 towns with direct access to the lake. These 2 towns were flooded in the past century to provide electricity to a large majority of Colombians via their hydroelectric power plant production. Today, it not only is one of the largest generators of electricity, it is also a vibrant touristic destination, with the activities on the lake, spectacular spaces, unique architecture, and an unbeatable experience. In the immediate area of the house you have access to the main lake, various off-road tracks where trekking, bike riding and hiking become really fun. There are a lot of attractions by car o pontoon boat (which can be rented for an extra cost with our captain). Feel free to take a kayak and explore the many wonders the mystic lake has to offer! Renters are expected to have their own transportation for arriving to the property. However, taxis and tuk tuks can be called by our staff and can easily take you anywhere you need to go within minutes. Getting around is easy, as the house is located in a very central location.
