Tucanes Ridge B&B is located in Sueño Escondido which means "Hidden Dream". That truly describes our mountain on Costa Rica's #Central Pacific Coast. Bordering the wildlife sanctuary of #Carara National Park, we have 18kms of wooded roads and trails to explore. Though it feels worlds away, our nature lovers and birding paradise is just 10 minutes down a mountain road to stores, restaurants and 20-35 minutes to some of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches and waterfalls. The bustling beach towns of Herradura, Jaco and Hermosa are only 40 minutes away. The drive from the airport in San Jose is just over an hour. Tucanes Ridge B&B at Sueño Escondido is a haven for many species of birds, including scarlet macaws, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, kiskadees, oropendolas, trogons, motmots, doves, caracaras, hawks, eagles and more. The area is teeming with wildlife such as howler and capuchin monkeys, coatis, tayras, pacas, agouti, deer, and you may even spot a sloth or a jaguar. There are also colorful reptiles, lizards and frogs. Down the mountain is the Tarcoles River, home to crocodiles, many shore birds, cows and horses. Live Pura Vida, relax!
