I am an interesting and well rounded person with special interest in history, art and sports.People usually comment on my clever humor, especially those who can understand it. I am also a good story teller...I have spent most of my holidays at Pedoulas because my parents had the wisdom to buy a holiday house here in 1969. The old owner was the priest of the village and my father was a teacher, so the house became known among the villagers as "the house which was bough from the priest by the teacher". Few knew that the real force behind this transaction was my mother, also a teacher. Mrs Irini could not stand spending the summers neither in her hot and dry village in the Mesaoria plains nor in my father's hot and humid village at the Karpasia Peninsula. In 2011 we started a big effort to renovate the house through an EU funded programme supporting the development of Agroturism. We complied with very strict guidelines and the project took longer than expected. But we were compensated with a top quality outcome! Yet, the agrotouristic puzzle was not ready, until our neighbor, Mrs Yiannoula, one of the few born-and-raised residents of Pedoula, still living in the village agreed to be the caretaker of the facility. Bottom line: You are coming to a top quality place with top quality hosts!
"Spiti tis Irinis" has a unique characteristic location-wise. It is at the historical central of the village, while it remains quite and serene because it is bordering with the "evergreen" valley of Marathassa. The house boasts to be in the vicinity of the leading cultural/historical attraction of Pedoulas: the 15th century Archangel Michael church which is one of the ten churches listed in the World Heritage List of UNESCO. Next to the church one can find the Byzantine Museum of Pedoulas. At the same time, all services and facilities of Pedoulas village are within walking distance:coffee shops, restaurants, groceries, the hospital etc. can be reached very easily. Another asset of the neighbouhood is its closeness to the renowned gardens of Pedoulas. "Spiti tis Irinis" can be a starting point for hiking in the picturesque and recently upgraded walking trails of Pedoulas.
