At an altitude of 1000 m above sea level, with a great view over the Illertal towards Neuschwanstein, the Grünten, and the Allgäu main ridge, lies the small village of Knottenried with our newly built holiday home "Bergstätter Sonne". The house was completed in June 2023. The room layout is very bright and spacious. The visible solid wood walls, the wooden beam ceiling, the open roof structure, and the high-quality and modern furnishings contribute to an extraordinary atmosphere. The entire energy supply is provided by eco-electricity from EWS in Schönau. Numerous hiking and mountain biking trails start directly at the house. The nearest alpine huts serving hearty snacks, Allgäu beer specialties, and breathtaking views can be reached on foot in 35 minutes. It takes just 7 minutes to drive to Alpsee and Immenstadt. In winter, the 36 km large Loipenparadies Diepolz/Knottenried runs right past the house, and the nearest ski lift is just a 5-minute drive away. Thanks to the good connections, popular tourist destinations such as the royal castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, the Tannheimer Tal, Oberstdorf, the Kleinwalsertal, the Bregenzer Wald, and Lake Constance can be reached quickly. In the immediate vicinity, numerous nature trails, hiking and biking paths, via ferratas, as well as adventure and paragliding schools invite you to engage in sports activities. The Bergbauernmuseum Diepolz and the Sternwarte Oberallgäu are within walking distance. The thrilling summer toboggan run at Alpsee and the popular high ropes course Bärenfalle are in close proximity. In the popular cheese school Thalkirchdorf, sociable courses can be booked. Directly opposite the holiday home lies the "Hotel Bergstätter Hof" with its excellent pizzeria "La Luna D'argento" - with delivery service if needed! A breakfast buffet can be booked at the hotel.
