Hiking trails, such as the famous Way of St. James and cycle paths lead right past the house. The Rennsteig, Thuringia's most famous hiking trail, is only 12 km away. On the gold trail from Almerswind to Goldistal, you can experience the history of gold up close and, of course, you can even gold-wash yourself. Good luck! The exciting history of gold mining can be found in the Gold Museum. Many attractions, such as the Zinselhöhle in Meschenbach, a natural karst cave, the castle ruins of Schaumberger, the Schildkröt - doll museum in Rauenstein, the German Toy Museum in Sonneberg can tell a lot about our region. Thanks to its central location, we are an ideal starting point to many cultural and tourist attractions in Thuringia and Franconia.
