In the woods of the Black Forest village Loßburg rises the river Kinzig. This is a energetic and magic place in the middle of the pines, 1km from the holiday department. From here, rafting men shipped the big pines until Rotterdam/ Holland, before 1893 the railway brought them out of Black Forest. Our ancestors have been woodcutter and handycraft men, living in small farms with cows, pigs and chicken.
The woods of Loßburg-Rodt are the source of energy for people who are looking for peace, good air and tranquillity. Wonderful trails, at ground level or with only light gradient, for walks and bicycle trips into the sourrounding wood oasis and to next villages are well signposted. This trekkings are not comparable with a trekking tour in the alps, as the surroundings are not so high, but lovely green and the base for unforgettable longer or shorter walks, breathing the air full of pine aroma.
The panoramic village walk Lossburger Meile is perfect if you want to know the historical places. On information boards of each place you find explications. You also can do the art trail (Kunstlehrpfad) and the botanical forest trail (Waldlehrpfad). The village museum is very good organized.
