Nestled between forests, vineyards and the Moselle, Bullay, an old winemaking village, has developed into a popular wine and holiday resort. Bullay's history dates back to the 12th century. Its sights include the Brautrock fountain, a monument to the large vineyard 'Bullayer Brautrock', and the half-timbered ensemble of former aristocratic residences on Zehnthausstrasse. Visit the imposing Catholic parish church of St. Mary Magdalene from the 18th century in Gothic style. Pilgrims who walk the Way of St. James on this part of the Moselle Camino receive a very beautiful pilgrim stamp in Bullay.
The area around Bullay and the Moselle region are rich in castles and palaces. Bullay also shares in this cultural heritage. The Reichsburg Cochem is an impressive example of medieval architecture and offers a fascinating insight into the history of the region.
The convenient location makes Bullay the ideal starting point for excursions. The enchanting Moselle promenade invites you to take relaxing walks and bike rides along the Moselle.
You can enjoy the famous vineyards such as 'Brautrock' as well as other well-known wines such as 'Graf Beyßel-Herrenberg', 'Kronenberg' and 'Sonneck' during a wine tasting with the local winemakers. A highlight is the Bullayer Autumn and Wine Festival on the second weekend in September with public wine tasting, large fireworks and “ox on a spit”.
