Welcome to Our Home!
Built in 1878/79 as a residence for the newly appointed city architect Gustav Friedrich Hartmann, the house remains structurally unchanged in large parts to this day. Over the years, we have restored the villa to reflect its state at the height of the Imperial Era around 1900, a time typical for a middle-class household. Experience an unparalleled stay in our home and enjoy the historical charm of the grand reception rooms as well as the intimacy of the guest quarters.
Since we, Max (church musician) and Jens (physicist), acquired Villa Hartmann in 2007, we have tirelessly invested time and energy—first into securing the building and later into its faithful restoration in historical style. In 2023, we decided to bring to life our long-matured idea of sharing the unique ambiance of the house by opening it as a B&B. However, the design and furnishing of the villa is an ongoing journey. As passionate flea market and antique enthusiasts, we constantly discover new items or draw inspiration from the designs of other historic homes. You will likely find us always working on some small or larger project, and we are happy to share details about our restoration process. Either way, we look forward to welcoming you to Villa Hartmann!
