    Gute Unterkunft direkt in der Altstadt von Speyer und in unmittelbarer Nähe zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Auch der Hockenheimring ist gut und schnell zu erreichen. Die Parkplatzsituation ist etwas schwierig.

The history of the "House Korngasse 18“ reaches back for more than 260 years. The first time it's mentioned 1773 in the city chronicle as the butchery of Heinrich Schmal. The landlord Heinrich Brinkmann bought the house in the middle of the 19th century and opened "The Cock" as a wine tavern. He run it until the beginning of the First World War. After the end of it there was a new owner – Karl Schirmer – who named it "Weinwirtschaft zur Schwarzamsel". Since 1946 it's owned by the family Schick who renovated it completely in 1991. In 2013 started the married couple Gerd and Helga Gronau – landlords of the place since 1994 – to complete the house with the two holiday flats the "Amselstubb" and the "Palzstub". There is a saying in Speyer: "The archaeological excavations in Speyer are beginning when you detach the wallpapers in an old house." If you see it that way in the "Schwarzamsel" you are right in the middle of the history of our more than 2000 years old city.
We are a hospitable married couple who runs an old wine tavern with historical tradition right in the middle of the heart of Speyer since many years. Our two holiday flats are situated in the first and second upper floors atop the wine tavern.
Our two holiday flats are located directly above the oldest wine tavern of Speyer, straight in the pedestrian area in the center of Speyer. In the immediate vicinity there are many cafes located, which are inviting you to a cozy breakfast as well as the pedestrian area invites you to amble and shop. At the supermarket across the street you will find everything you need to accomodate yourself. The numerous places of historic interest of the more than two thousand years old Speyer are easily approachable by little walks.
