Welcome to La Casita de Descanso, or 'The House of Peace'. Our guest apartment in La Luz invites you to open the doors and make yourself at home from the moment you arrive. This basement apartment offers plenty of space to relax, spanning a generous 75 square metres. All rooms are fitted with cool stone tiles. With two and a half bedrooms, including a double bed, a single bed and a comfortable sofa bed, it is perfect for families or small groups. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, a guest WC and a bright living room with a dining area. You are welcome to use the terrace, which offers unique panoramic views of the wide Orotava Valley to the east, the majestic peak of Teide to the west, the deep blue Atlantic Ocean to the north, and Tenerife's characteristic mountain landscape to the south. For your comfort, there is a flat-screen TV, a comfortable sofa, fast WiFi and a washing machine. The surroundings are quiet and family-friendly with a typically Canarian atmosphere, providing the perfect opportunity to leave everyday life behind and immerse yourself in the island's culture.

A day in La Luz as we love it: In the morning, we start with breakfast in the cosy La Esquinita bar. Then we shoulder our rucksacks and set off on a hike. After just a 20-minute drive, we reach the mountains at Teide. There we enjoy the clear air, the sweeping views over the Atlantic and the forest trails above the Orotava Valley. We treat ourselves to a picnic among the pine and deciduous trees before heading back. From home, we drive 10 minutes to Punta Brava beach in Puerto de la Cruz, where we can stretch our tired legs in the sand. In the evening, we round off the day with a meal in one of the many typical Spanish restaurants in nearby La Orotava or Puerto de la Cruz.

Your apartment is located in La Luz – in the heart of Tenerife's green north. The small village is located in the foothills of Teide National Park, nestled in the beautiful landscape of the Orotava Valley. Just a 10-minute drive away is the old town of La Orotava, which invites you to stroll and linger with its typical Canarian flair, historic streets, restaurants and small cafés. In 15 minutes you can reach Puerto de la Cruz – one of the liveliest cities on the island. There you can shop, swim at black sand beaches, watch the hustle and bustle or immerse yourself in the diverse nightlife in the evening. The famous Loro Parque is also only 15 minutes away. For families considering a move to Tenerife: In La Luz, just a 10-minute walk from the apartment, there is the British School of Tenerife and a primary school. In Puerto de la Cruz, you will find the German School and a wide range of sports and leisure activities, not only for children and young people. La Luz belongs to the municipality of La Orotava. Everything you need for everyday life – from restaurants and bars to supermarkets, pharmacies, shops, churches and tourist information – is just a few minutes away by car. Even without a car, you can get around easily: the nearest bus stop is just a few minutes' walk away and will take you reliably to La Orotava, Puerto de la Cruz or even the capital Santa Cruz.
