We are Belgian. In 1994, in search of a different way of life, my wife Isabelle and I left Belgium and moved to Andalusia... First in Orgiva (Las Alpujarras), where we set up one of the first self-catering cottages in the region; we helped to develop rural tourism and organic farming in the area. We have been living in Almuñecar since the end of 2012.

"Casa Indigo" is a triplex house located on the top of Almuñécar, in the urbanization "Fuentes de Almuñécar", at 1,2 km from the first beaches (20 minutes walk and 3,5 km from the town centre. A car is highly recommended. The house is on several levels and has three flights of stairs, making it difficult to access for people with reduced mobility. It has 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a separate toilet. The living room opens onto a large 30 m2 semi-covered terrace with extendable dining table and chairs, outdoor furniture, sun loungers, barbecue; from this terrace you can enjoy beautiful views of the sea and the surrounding hills... The house is located in a family urbanization, quiet, calm and secure (night watchman). The urbanization has 2 private swimming pools accessible with a key: one panoramic overflowing, with lifeguard present during the day, open in summer, from 15/6 to 15/9, (closed on Tuesdays for maintenance); and another open all year round (closed on Mondays for maintenance). There are parking spaces in front of the house, as well as 2 private spaces in a closed garage 100 meters away. Almuñécar has many varied beaches, an Arab fortress, a very nice old town with pedestrian streets full of shops and small restaurants ... Almuñécar enjoys 300 days of sunshine a year and an average annual temperature of 17.6°C!

We are 45 minutes from Granada and its Alhambra, its cathedral, its gypsy quarters, 1h30 from the ski resort of Sierra Nevada, 1 hour from the tourist villages of La Alpujarra, 15 minutes from Nerja and Frigiliana, and 1 hour from Málaga (Picasso museum, Thyssen museum, contemporary art centre, Pompidou centre, Alcazaba, cathedral, Roman theatre); it is possible to visit Cordoba and Ronda on the day. For diving enthusiasts, there are several clubs or schools and the underwater scenery is beautiful on the Tropical Coast. There are several padel courts in Almuñécar. There is an 18-hole golf course in Motril, about 15 km away.
