FCT Vacacional is part of the Fundación Condado de Taboada, a private non-profit organisation based in Galicia, Spain.
Created in 2013 thanks to the generosity of Amelia González de la Maza, XXIX Countess of Taboada we are the custodians of over 600 years of heritage and tradition. Today we are continuing her desire to further medical research in the fight against cancer alongside social development and outreach projects in Galicia.
We manage Casa dos Maza in Cambados, Pazo de San Pedro de Bembibre in Taboada and are beginning a full restoration and renovation of Pazo de Illobre in Betanzos.
By staying in one of our historic Pazos (Galician manor houses) not only are you experiencing the history of these wonderful properties and the noble house of Taboada but you are helping us raise vital revenue to deliver our purpose. Thank you for your support!

Enjoy spectacular sunsets with stunning sea views of the Ría de Arousa and hectares of vineyards that produce the world famous Albariño from the terrace of this magnificent Pazo (Galician manor house).
Built in 1876, and fully renovated in 2012 this historic house was used for over 100 years as the summer residence of the noble family Taboada.
Now run by the private non-profit Fundación Condado de Taboada this unique house offers an exclusive experience of luxury and history in a truly special place whilst helping generate vital revenue for their mission of furthering medical research in the fight against cancer, alongside social development and outreach projects in Galicia
Stay in luxury with richly furnished rooms with antique furnishings and architecture delightfully set off against a modern extension with glass feature walls, staircases and balustrades. There´s space for friends and all the family with 10 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and a modern kitchen. The floors of the house are fully accessible for guests with wheelchairs or limited mobility with an inbuilt lift.
The house and accompanying private complex also form a safe haven to escape from the outside world. Relax in the extensive gardens with centuries old camellias, a natural spring-fed pond, dovecote and traditional Galician granary (hórreo). Enjoy the sunsets with a glass of Albariño and local gastronomy on the terrace. Alternatively, play table tennis or make yourself a drink at the outdoor bar area also ideally situated for full enjoyment of the sunset.
The house is ideally situated for a visit to Cambados, the famous beaches and vineyards, and surrounding towns with short transfers to the airports of Santiago de Compostela (40 mins) and Vigo (30 mins). For full appreciation of the countryside and sites its recommended to have a vehicle during your stay.

Cambados is one of the most spectacular places to visit in Galicia offering a unique visitor experience. This beautiful fishing village is located in the Ría de Arousa with something to offer for everyone ranging from architecture, ancestral homes, hiking trails, pristine beaches, gastronomy and of course wine.
The most imposing district is that of Fefiñáns with its imposing square regarded as one of the most beautiful in Galicia containing the 16th century complex of the church of San Benito and the monumental Pazo de Fefiñans, which hosts the oldest winery in the dfistrict.
Other notable cultural locations and monuments to visit include the national monument church of Santa Marina Dozo and the beautiful viewing point (mirador) of the monte da Pastora – offering a panoramic view of the estuary. Another must-see is the traditional fisherman´s district of San Tomé through which you can access the picturesque ruins of the San Saduriño tower.
The area was designated as an asset of significant cultural interest in 2001 recognising the importance of the local historic heritage. Cambodos welcomes thousands of tourists every year who come for festivities including the Albariño wine festival, scallop festival and the festival of El Carmen.
Cambados also has a rich artistic heritage with famous “Cambadeses” including: the poet Ramón Cabanillas, sculptors Francisco Asorey, Narciso Pérez, Francisco Leiro and Manolo Paz who were born here, and the writer Alfredo Brañas who wrote some of his works whilst staying in the town.
Recognised internationally as the capital of Albariño wine the town is the beginning of the renowned wine route which includes twenty two bodegas with the prestigious Rias Baixas EU destination of origin certification. Famous Bodegas (wineries) include Bodegas Martín Códax and Adega Condes de Albarei.The town also plays host to one the oldest food and drink festivals in Spain The Albariño Wine Festival, celebrated annually every August since 1953.
