A recently renovated house with beautiful materials, on a mountainside at 1450 m altitude with a superb view of the watchtower (Atalaya in Catalan) and overlooking the peaceful and authentic village of LLO. The Cerdanya plateau is a high-altitude territory that jumps between French and Spanish Catalonia and has a very sunny climate with cool nights in summer due to the altitude. The swimming pool and terrace surrounded by mountains is open from late June to September. It is secure and shared with another gîte. We have installed a rainwater recovery system. The pool is only open if there is no prefectural ban. Very quiet and not overlooked, the gîte has 3 bedrooms, one of which has a mezzanine, and can accommodate 8 people. Well equipped kitchen - Baby/child equipment available - Stairs are secured with baby gates - Linen provided - Covered parking, not closed - The place is non-smoking.

We became owners of the Atalaya after many years as tenants! We have equipped the gite to feel like home, especially with plenty of utensils for the home cook. The bedding is comfortable. It is a peaceful place to recharge your batteries and rest.

L'Atalaya is located at the top of the village of LLO, near the ruins of the medieval castle, in front of the watchtower, amidst the stairways and houses made from stone and lloses (the local slate) and at the foot of the hiking trails. Activities : - The LLO baths (30°C) and sauna envelop you, summer and winter, with their hot water vapours rich in sulphur and sodium, 500 m down in the village - The gorges of the Sègre are accessible on foot - or with snowshoes - directly from the gîte for family walks or more challenging hikes. - The ski slopes (winter) and cable cars (winter and summer) run down the slopes of Font-Romeu, a 30 minute drive away. - Treetop courses and ziplines offer panoramic views in the natural surroundings of Err, Angoustrine and Porté-Puymorens. - Golf courses look out over the Pyrenees at Bolvir (27 holes), Puigcerda (18 holes) and Font Romeu (9 holes, 1800m altitude) 20 mins away. How to get there: The SNCF station of Latour de Carol - Enveitg links Toulouse (2h40 then Paris by TGV or night train) and Barcelona (2h30). It is a 20 minute drive or taxi ride away. Depending on the timetable, it is possible to arrive directly at Saillagouse with the little Yellow Train, or by bus. Otherwise, the nearest airports are Perpignan, Toulouse and Barcelona.
