The OVO Network team’s opinion - Chalet Ourson du Passieu is a newly-renovated farmhouse for 10, with five bedrooms and five bathrooms and over three floors. Don't be fooled by the chalets's charming traditional exterior - once you step through the doors you'll find a comfortable, modern home, with stylish decor and all the facilities you need to help your holiday go without a hitch, including a well-equipped kitchen, a separate laundry room, five stylish bath and shower rooms, a sauna and an open-plan living area that opens on to a balcony. The bedrooms are all well-appointed, with three doubles and a bunk room, each with their own (not necessarily en suite) bath or shower room. But the final bedroom, the master suite on the top floor, really takes the prize! From the bed you look out over a stunning view, which is even better if you step out on to the balcony. But despite its idyllic setting, Chalet Ourson du Passieu is only a five-minute drive from the ski lifts, shops and restaurants of Saint Nicholas La Chapelle and Flumet, and just a 15-minute drive from Megeve. In the summer you can spend a sunny day at the leisure lake in Flumet, enjoy a gentle stroll along the Arrondine river or head for the peaks for a more challenging hike. If you're visiting Chalet Ourson du Passieu in the winter, you'll have access to plenty of great skiing. The resort of Flumet-St Nicholas la Chapelle is part of the Val d'Arly ski area, which has 90km of pistes - perfect for a short stay. But there's plenty more to explore if you have the time. A free shuttle bus links the villages to the Espace Diamant area (192km of pistes) at Les Evettes. The Espace Diamant ski pass also includes Notre Dame de Bellecombe and Crest Voland/Cohennoz. If you're still looking for more challenge, you can head for Megeve (15km), where you can explore the huge Evasion Mont Blanc area's 479km of slopes! There's just as much to see and do in the summer too, with wonderful scenery to explore on foot or by bike, impressive Baroque architecture and the more relaxing Lac de Flumet leisure area, which is perfect for a family day out. Walkers can enjoy gentle strolls along the banks of the Arrondine river, or head for the heights - there's a challenging 18.5km route that takes in the three peaks around Flumet. Cyclists will appreciate the free shuttle bus, complete with a trailer for your bikes, that runs along the Val d'Arly throughout the summer. Spring and autumn are great times to visit the Val D'Arly too - the resorts and mountains are less crowded but nature is still spectacular.
