"Welcome to 'Chez Sophie', a haven of character and a unique place in Ardèche. I open the doors of my personal home to you, a place rich in history and authenticity where I live year-round. This 16th-century building, fully restored, has been thoughtfully designed to combine the charm of the old with modern comfort. Located in the heart of Ardèche, nicknamed the “Little Corsica” for its wild and preserved landscapes, it invites you to discover a region rich in nature, heritage, and traditions. Unlike anonymous rentals, I welcome you into my home, furnished and decorated with taste, reflecting my attachment to this particular art of living and light. Each room has its own soul: exposed beams, stone walls, and warm touches that testify to the history and personality of the place (candles, vintage objects, pottery, and paintings from my mother, books, games, home cinema...). Whether you are a fan of hiking, swimming in crystal-clear rivers, or simply seeking calm and serenity, you will find here an authentic setting conducive to rest and discovery. Let yourself be charmed by the authenticity of this region, its picturesque villages, and its culinary delights. Whether you seek calm, inspiration, or adventure in the magnificent landscapes of Ardèche, my home is a haven where you can recharge. I am here to guide you, share my favorite addresses and tips, while respecting your privacy and desires. I am delighted to share this living space with you, so you can fully enjoy Ardèche, the “Little Corsica,” and the incomparable charm of a lived-in home full of history. See you soon, take care, Sophie.
I am Sophie, a host passionate about art in all its forms: the art of living, interior design, and places steeped in history. Born in Ardèche, I have also lived in Paris, Lyon, Aix-les-Bains, and Martinique, experiences that enriched my sensitivity to spaces and their unique souls. For me, the art of living is the light that illuminates spaces, places conducive to reflection or rest, but also large spaces designed for sharing, celebration, and beautiful encounters. I love authentic places that tell a story, and it is this vision that I have infused into my home, where I invite you to stay. After a career in IT, I chose to reconnect with what matters by returning to my Ardèche roots. Passionate about nature, travel, animals, and human relationships, I welcome you into a living space where everything has been designed to create harmony between authenticity, respect for the environment, and comfort. By opening the doors of my home, I trust you. You will be surrounded by objects I have carefully chosen, sometimes vintage, decorative elements that have a story, as well as my plants and animals, which are an integral part of this universe. I trust in your respect for this unique place, where every detail has significance. I would be delighted to welcome you and share with you this art of living that is so dear to my heart. Come discover Ardèche differently, and enjoy this soulful place as if it were yours, for a few days.
