Dupres House is situated in the heart of the WW1 Somme battlefields. Only 5 mins from Delville Wood and 15 mins from Thiepval Memorial. Dupres House is one of three cottages which make Chavasse Farm, the old village dairy. Dupres House is a barn conversion from the farm’s old stables.
The cottage sleeps four guests in two twin bedroom. The house comprises of a lounge with wood burning fire, UK free-view TV and DVD player, WW1 library with historical and tourist books. Kitchen with gas oven, fridge with freezer, and all essentials. Bathroom with bath and overhead shower, sink and toilet. Heated by under-floor heating, wood-burning stove and wall heaters. Outside patio, garden furniture and BBQ area. Secure parking for two cars. Free WIFI. Washing and dryer available in barn.
You will have access to large gardens and a separate barn which has a washing machine and dryer, BBQ and equipment and a second fridge and freezer. You have your own patio and have access to an old outhouse which has been converted into a small bar 'The Rum Ration' (bring you own vino).
A caretaker (one of the British owners) lives in a separate cottage on the far-side of the farm and is available to provide assistance and give local advice on places to visit and eat out.
Hardecourt is situated in the heart of the WW1 Somme battlefields within walking distance if some of the commemorative sites including the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Cemeteries of Guillemont Road, Peronne Road (Maricourt) and Carnoy.  By car all within a 15 minutes’ drive are other Great War sites including Thiepval Memorial and visitor centre, Ulster Tower, Newfoundland Park with its preserved trenches, Lochnagar Crater, Delville Wood and over a hundred other cemeteries and memorials.  Local museums are located in Albert and Peronne.   
Coury House and Chavasse Farm are central to the local towns of Albert, Peronne and Bapaume, all approximately 15km.  All have numerous bars and restaurants, shops and supermarkets.  Closer still is a bar/restaurant in the village of Curlu.
Within a 40-minute drive are the larger towns of Amiens, Arras, St Quentin and Cambrai.  Paris is easily accessible to either drive or by train.  Disneyland Paris is a 2-hour drive and Parc Astrix 1-hour.
Coury House has a selection of local guide books and maps, routes for local walks and self-drive tour routes.
