We saw La Bastide in a real estate magazine, viewed it the next day and then made an offer the same day! Offer accepted we moved in late 2005 and began renovations to the gardens and houses. Chance would have it that we had our lovely village of Plan de la Tour a short walk to discover this typical unchanged provencal village hosting a weekly market and authentic restaurants serving uncomplicated local delights. Not only that, Saint-Tropez: A mere 20-minute drive away, this iconic town is famous for its super yacht and classic yacht filled harbour, upscale shopping, and vibrant nightlife, alongside the beautiful beaches of Pampelonne where lunch is served in the finest beach clubs on the planet. Our season begins in late March when the coast springs to life with vine buds and spring flowers and is extended due to the mild climate and summer often stretches into Mid November when the sea is still in the 20s. Christmas is also a magical time in StTropez and Sainte Maxime showcasing all the charm of Christmas markets and restaurants are open even on the beach The Gulf of Saint-Tropez: Perfect for sailing, diving, and enjoying the Mediterranean waters, this area is also dotted with charming coastal villages like Ramatuelle and Port Grimaud—a delightful "Venice of Provence." Grimaud Village: Just a short drive from Plan de la Tour, Grimaud is a picturesque hilltop village that boasts narrow winding streets, medieval charm, and sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. Local Vineyards: The wine here is exceptional, and the local vineyards offer wine tours and tastings. The Domaine des Masques and Domaine de la Sanglière are among our favorites.
