Having spent time holidaying , cycle training and tandem touring on bikes France has always had a special place in our hearts . We initially chose to buy in finistere to enjoy our holidays with our 2 young boys .
We took the plunge In December 2018 to move permanently swayed by the ever so changing UK , work opportunities and whilst the children young Tommy now 11 Taylor 8 , enough to adapt and learn another language ,it had to be done .
Having spent many years mountain bike racing nationally in the UK , as well as cycle training in wales and Scotland we have many good and not so good experiences of accommodation and had always talked about maybe one day we could be the hosts .
So our first house bought initially for holidays became our new family home as well as converting part of it for a one bedroom en-suite bed and breakfast . But it wasn’t enough, hence we took on the new exciting challenge of renovating a house in a better location with more scope of providing rooms for guests here in Port Launay. We now have a beautiful house overlooking the canal where fisherman gather , walkers , runners & cyclists pass by , whilst kayaks & gig boats too & fro.

‘La Dernière Étape’ bed and breakfast is aptly named after the famous Tour de France meaning ‘the last stage’ . Chosen for our passion & participation over the years in the sport of cycling .
Our newly solely renovated 2 storey town house overlooking the Nantes-Brest canal has been thoughtfully themed around our lives together to share with our guests. Our 3 double ensuite bedrooms ‘Ventoux,Tourmalet & Aspin situated on the second floor are named after the nostalgic alpine climbs . Ventoux & Aspin profit from the picture postcard views of the canal, whilst Tourmalet is tucked away in its own rustic nook.
Breakfast is available and is served in the rooms.
Over all we offer a warm welcoming stay in our family home along with my wife & I , two boys Tommy , Taylor & not forgetting our bouncy beagle ‘Oreo’ & ‘mog’ the cat .
