Welcome to Maison Brocante! I am Irish and my French husband, Alain and I, look forward to welcoming you to Maison Brocante, set right in the heart of the Medieval Town of Pezenas. We love to share information with our guests, as we live close by in a small village. We hope you will find it useful. Our property is a perfect base from which to explore the Languedoc-Roussillon region, with its historic towns, beautiful beaches, Canal du Midi, and sking in the Alps in Winter!
If you’re looking for a town base to explore all of the diversity of the Languedoc, then Maison Brocante in Pezenas is just perfect. Pezenas sits on the plains between the Haut (“Upper”) Languedoc National Park and the Mediterranean coastline. It is a mere twenty minutes from the clean sandy beaches of the Herault, including Portesiranges and Valras Plage, close to the Canal du Midi and one of France’s most attractive cities, Montpelier. Pezanas is a beautifully preserved medieval town with its narrow streets, individually stylised architecture, alleys and squares where Moliere famously spent his days, and Maison Brocante is right in the centre of it all.
The Pezenas market is held every Saturday and takes over the whole town centre and offers a great range of regional Languedoc food, clothing, flowers, and general bric-a-brac. It is known as the best weekly French market to visit in the Languedoc region of Southern France. The town has also developed a successful Organic Farmers Market held every Saturday – just 5 minutes from Maison Brocante.
There are wonderful restaurants and cafes just minutes from the property, a local spar, bakery and cheesemongers.
