Authentic farmhouse with old-world charm and high-quality furnishing Come rest and relax in a charming old farmhouse, nestled in a sunny and timeless landscape. Enjoy a drink by the pool, taking in the bucolic views of Provençal hills! The 180 m2 house with its curated garden of 1.573 m2 is located in the midst of idyllic countryside among the Mont Ventoux foothills. The pool overlooking the hills and vines welcomes you under the shade of a 700-year-old oak tree. The extensive views inspire both rest and walks. Treat yourself to convivial meals under the rose-covered pergola or around the plancha in the shaded summer kitchen. Relaxation and quiet in an outstanding setting!
On your arrival you will be met by a very old and distinguished couple: a 700-year-old oak tree and a typical stone-faced Provençal farmhouse or ‘mas’ dating back to 1800. They incarnate the timeless charm of this spot whose panoramic view we hope will instil the same sense of serenity and calm that we fell in love with. We trust that you will appreciate the spirit and atmosphere of this historic location and hope that you will savour the comfort, relaxation and adventures that we have the pleasure to experience each time that we reconnect with Provence.
Blauvac is perfectly situated facing the southern flank of the Mont Ventoux, between Vaucluse Rodanien, Comtat Venaissien, Monts de Vaucluse and Luberon. Provence offers a host of magnificent sites, hidden treasures and activities, many of which are children-friendly, be it: • hiking and cycling in the surrounding hills, in Les Dentelles de Montmirail, the majestic Mont Ventoux or over towards the Provençal Colorado (Les Ocres de Roussillon et de Rustrel), or else in the impressive Gorges de la Nesque (10 minutes by car from La Paradisse) • strolling in the historic cities of Avignon (its Bridge, its Papal Palace, its Festival), of Orange (its antique amphitheatre), of Vaison-la-Romaine (its Roman vestiges), of Aix-en-Provence (its fountains, terraces, museums and shops) or of Marseilles (the fierce gem facing the sea) • exploring charming villages that might be perched or near water (Séguret, Gigondas, Venasque, Blauvac, Méthamis, Bédoin, Gordes and its nestled Abbaye de Sénanque, Pernes-les-Fontaines and its countless fountains and washhouses, the contemplative L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and its mysterious resurgence, the stunning perched villages of Bonnieux and Lacoste, as well as Les Alpilles among which Les Baux-de-Provence with the unmissable Carrières de Lumières, etc.) • tasting specialities from local producers, renowned restaurants, farmers’ markets or wine producers (we suggest two neighbouring producers worth visiting: Domaine des Anges between Blauvac and Mormoiron, and Château Unang between Malemort-du-Comtat and Méthamis) • enjoying other sporty activities, such as climbing, horse riding, canoeing, hiking with donkeys etc. • attending festivals of all types, musical styles, theatre, street art etc., both in towns or in surprising villages.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRAVELLERS

4.1 RULES AND POLICIES OF THE ESTABLISHMENT

Travellers are required to comply with the establishment's rules and policies during their stay.

⇒ PARTIES, PETS AND SMOKING

The property as a whole is destined for family use. Parties are not permitted and pets are not allowed. Please do not cause disturbance between 10pm and 8 am, and refrain from displacing furniture inside the house.

The entire house is a non-smoking space, but you may use the outdoor areas for smoking. Ashtrays are provided in the garden, which should be emptied into the rubbish bin. No cigarette butts are to be thrown into the garden or the countryside, for ecological reasons and to prevent fires in a region affected by the risk of forest fires.

It is forbidden to light the fireplace in the living room and to light a fire in the summer kitchen. Only the plancha (gas flat-top grill) must be used.

⇒ ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE

Should any breakage, damage or deterioration occur, we ask you to inform us of this during your stay, even if no damage appears apparent. In the event of loss or damage to items in the accommodation, the amount of the deposit may be reduced by the cost of repairing or replacing them, or the insurance company may be liable.

⇒ RISKS AND PRECAUTIONS

La Paradisse is an ancient property with particular characteristics which is rented out in its authentic state.

Despite the renovations undertaken and maximised security, residual risks can always remain.

We draw your attention to the wall leading up to the main entrance door, the wrought iron barrier in front of the raised area containing the olive trees and the guardrail which separates the pool area from the little street passing in front of the house. These guardrails and the aforementioned wall are conceived to retain someone from losing their balance, but they are not designed to safeguard children who may choose to climb on top or through them. Inside the house, the old stairwells are steep and contain steps which are smaller than the standardised norms we are commonly used to these days. Parental responsibility for supervising children is paramount at all times.

⇒ CHILD SAFETY

We do our very best to ensure that our holiday home is as welcoming and as suitable as possible for children. If you notice anything that needs to be adapted on the property, please contact us so that we can remedy the issue. The safety and supervision of children remain the responsibility of parents and/or custodians.

Children are not allowed to use the pool without adult supervision, regardless of their age or swimming ability.

We have fitted the pool with an Immerstar audible alarm (compliant with French standard NFP 90-307-1:2009), which operates with a key.

It is imperative that adults keep this key out of the reach of children, so that children do not have the opportunity to deactivate the alarm without the adults’ knowledge. Under no circumstances should the key be left in the lock of the appliance, as turning it will deactivate the alarm. Do not step on the appliance.

⇒ GENERAL SECURITY, SHUTTERS AND LOCKS

Although we have taken the necessary steps to make our accommodation safe for tenants, you also have a part to play in ensuring the safety of your stay.

When you are away from the house and during the night, it is your responsibility to ensure that all ground floor shutters, as well as all doors and windows, are closed and locked properly, to dissuade intruders and avoid damage caused by wind or rain.

⇒ ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING

A double garage is available.

La Paradisse is equipped with a Plexo Green’Up Access electric vehicle charging socket. Please bring your portable recharging device/unit, in order to allow the connection of a domestic socket 16/20A to a T2 type socket.

The surplus of electricity consumed by electric vehicle charging will be billed separately, according to the daily consumption rate used during your stay, figuring on our EDF record.

It is forbidden to use the regular electric sockets to charge an electric or hybrid car, as this carries the risk of an electrical circuit overload and is thus a fire hazard.

⇒ POOL CLEANLINESS AND HYGIENE

For hygienic reasons and to preserve the pool’s liner, pool users must use the outdoor shower before entering the pool.

Only sun creams and lotions can be used while swimming. The use of tanning oils before swimming is prohibited because such products leave permanent marks on the water line of the pool liner. In such a case, the users will be fully liable for the cost of the replacement of the stained liner.

⇒ POOL TOWELS

The hand, foot and bath towels provided with your rental service are uniquely for use indoors:

- You can either bring your own towels for the swimming pool.

- Or you can hire our cosy, quick-drying pool foutas (100% organic cotton: one side woven cotton and one side terry towelling; 290 gr/m2; 90 x 200 cm) for 10 € / person.

For wet swimwear or towels after a day at the pool, we have two drying racks (in the garage) for effective drying in the sun. The tumble dryer is for freshly washed clothes only.

⇒ GARDEN FURNITURE AND PLANCHA

In windy and rainy weather, we ask you to store parasols and deckchairs, as well as cushions in the garage, to avoid accidents and damage.

We are in a region where the risk of fire must be avoided. It is therefore forbidden to light the fireplace in the living room or to light a fire in the summer kitchen. Only the plancha should be used for barbecues. It is the tenant's responsibility to clean the plancha completely; an instruction leaflet and the necessary equipment are provided. Failure to do so will result in €100 being deducted from the deposit.

⇒ PRIVATE SEWAGE FACILITY

Only toilet paper is allowed the WCs. This is essential for the proper functioning of our private sewage facility.

Wet wipes, as well as feminine and infant hygiene articles, must be placed in the waste bin provided.

⇒ WASTE DISPOSAL

The rubbish bins and related explanations on waste sorting are located in the garage.

To avoid attracting insects and rodents, it is imperative that you empty the bins regularly, especially at your departure.

⇒ PREPARATIONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Out of respect for the housekeeping team, we ask that when you leave :

- The crockery is placed in the cupboards as it was when you arrived.

- Kitchen surfaces and all tables are wiped clean

- Cupboards, bins and fridges are emptied

- Ashtrays are emptied

- Work surfaces and tables are cleaned

- The sanitary facilities are in good condition

- Household appliances are in working order

- Items are stored where they were when you arrived

-All bins must be emptied.

Failure to do so will result in additional cleaning work, which will be deducted from the deposit according to the extra time spent.

4.2 CLEANLINESS AND UPKEEP OF ACCOMMODATION

Travellers are responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the accommodation during their stay. Any damage caused to the property will be charged to the traveller.

4.3 SECURITY OF PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Travellers are responsible for the security of their personal belongings. The establishment declines all responsibility in the event of loss, theft or damage.

5. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ESTABLISHMENT

5.1 COMMITMENTS OF THE ESTABLISHMENT

We are committed to providing a quality service in order to make your stay enjoyable. However, we cannot be held responsible for disruptions or incidents beyond our control.

In particular, we undertake to:

- Keep the swimming pool open from 1st May to 1st October

- Provide the tenant with a swimming pool fitted with a standardised safety device, in accordance with the law of 03/01/2003 and its implementing decree of 31/12/2003 modified by the decree of 07/06/04, meeting the safety criteria set out in II of article R 128-2 of the Code de la construction et de l'habitation, as soon as the pool is first put in water and no later than 01/05/2004 for pools that have already been built

- Undertake regular upkeep of the pool and garden, cleaning and routine maintenance work

- Not to carry out any work in the rented premises during the rental period, except in the case of an obvious emergency.

In the event of a problem or complaint during your stay, please inform us immediately so that we can take the appropriate measures to remedy the situation. Our concierge will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
