Situated on a hill overlooking the Lède valley, Monflanquin bears witness to a history which, in the Middle Ages, shaped the South-West of France: the struggle for influence between the kingdoms of France and England and the founding country houses. In this department of Lot-et-Garonne renowned for its market gardening and farming products, the sweetness of life also involves “eating well”. In Monflanquin, a few producers offer their South-West specialties based on duck, hazelnuts or liqueurs and brandies (to be enjoyed in moderation!) made with fruits from the region (including the famous Agen prune!). The village benefits from the "Territoire Bio Engagé" label, and in addition to the traditional weekly market, the bastide hosts the local producers' market every Thursday evening in the summer for a gourmet and festive moment!
