Be our guest in our house, so typical Thiérache, in the middle of the hamlet of Les Routières, surrounded with green pastures in a wooden countryside, a quite surrounding for walkers and cyclists. Our two guestrooms on the first floor (stairs a bit steep), have an independant entrance and each a privatif bathroom. « La Vannerie » remembers the faded glory of weaving baskets, specialy the "vannerie fine", famous in Origny-en-Thiérache. In the guestrooms you find a lot of baskets, tools, invoices... connected to this old tradition. Are included: a flowerfull and copiously breakfast in our house + bedlinnen + bathing towels. Free available for our guests, we have a lot of topographical plans, gpx-tracks and tourism information about the Thiérache. Free bike shed in the alderwooden barn. You can take advantage of our garden, in the middle of herbs, spices and soft fruits: perfect for an afternoon just getting away, with a good book and a little apero... Enjoy your stay in the Thiérache! Cyclists and walkers, our B&B is at 5km distance of the Axe Vert (Eurovéloroute nr3), an old railway hike starting at the abbey of Saint-Michel-en-Thiérache and ending in Guise (40km). But with our IGN-maps or GPX-tracks you find many beautiful hikes all over the Thiérache, somethimes in the middle of nowhere... Or take a bath... and do some canoe on the Ton, which passes in our hamlet! Don't just be sporty in The Thiérache, make a stop and visit some fortified churches : more than 60 churches to discover, with donjon, embrasures, watch-towers,... Visit also old public wash places and pigeon towers ,learn more about the history of glasswork and foundries, her military past, the abbeys... And why not: take the direction of the Familistère of Guise (35km), the modern museum of glassart Musverre in Sars-Poteries (35km), the medieval city and cathedral of Laon (48km), the Motobécane museum and the basilica in Saint-Quentin (50km), the firstwar memorials on the Chemin des Dames (65km) or the Place Ducale of Charleville-Mézières (65km)...En why not ending in Reims (85km) to enjoy a good glass of champagne...
