Le Rayol is a carefully renovated natural stone villa standing in 15 acres of terraced olive-groves, maritime pine trees and grass. The house faces south-east and the house-front and terraced patio (for 'al fresco' meals!) are covered. Here you will find peace and quiet, summer breezes, carrying the scent of lavender, thyme, rosemary and pine, and a 'forever' view to die for. In the white washed clear and simple decor of the house you will also find some family antiques. The windows have wooden shutters on the inside and out. There is a 12x6 m outdoor private swimming-pool and a breathtaking open view over the hills towards the sea. Easy winter-living: you will find central heating and a fire place for the cooler months of the year. The house also adjusts well for 2 people. There are no immediate neighbours. Shaded parking. Outdoor furniture provided. Please note that the last 800 metres or so of road to the property is not tarred and its condition varies depending on the weather. After many weeks of heavy rain (very rare during the main season) one has to drive carefully to avoid small rock protrusions. No need for 4x4 vehicles.
I've been renting out Le Rayol for over 15 years (if not on here - see HomeAway property # 403459 for reviews) and have thus been able to share my secluded paradise with selected guests who have unanimously loved it. I mostly just stay here and do not travel around, but there's lots to discover for those who are more curious. The Gorges du Verdon, Terre Blanche Golf resort, the Lac de St. Cassien, and the incomparable perched medieval villages of the area. There are lots of excellent restaurants nearby, I'll be happy to share details if you want to know.
