Our bright and spacious home is equipped with all the comforts and conveniences you need to relax and enjoy your holiday, including furnished patios in the private front and back gardens. The cupboards are stocked with oil, vinegars, spices and a starter of coffee, tea and sugar. The 2 double bedrooms on the main floor access the large bathroom/shower with separate toilet (how convenient!), and the 2 upstairs double twin bedrooms have private access to a shower room with separate toilet. Also on the upper level is an open minstrel's gallery overlooking the living room, furnished with a desk, arm chairs and a 'take-a-book/leave-a-book" library with a large selection of English language books. A three-minute walk takes you to the largest wine cooperative in Limoux, famous for “Blanquette” – the original “Champagne”. In fact, to start your holiday off right, we’ll leave a bottle in the fridge for you!

Cynthia is a theatre director/actor, volunteers at the SPCA, walking dogs and fundraising, and dotes on her 6 grandkids. Keith is a screenwriter, retired teacher, live theatre professional and sports nut. We feel hugely fortunate to live in two paradises: Limoux in the valley of the Aude, and Vancouver Island in British Columbia where we love to ocean kayak.

Les Lauriers is in a friendly family-oriented neighbourhood. There is lots of on-street parking, as well as parking in the gated driveway. A pleasant twenty-minute stroll leads you to the centre of Limoux: the lively “Place de la République”, the medieval square surrounded by specialty food shops, bars and restaurants. In addition to being the heart of “café society”, ‘La Place’ is the site for the fêtes and festivals that Limoux hosts for more than 200 days a year, including the Winter ‘Carnaval’, the longest in Europe! a five-minute walk takes you into the vineyards and the hills with views of the Pyrenéss and the Valley of the Aude. The area is steeped in history, rich in culture, and offers endless possibilities for outdoor enthusiasts! Within a 20 minute drive you can explore the amazing World Heritage Site, “La Cité”, in Carcassonne; swim at Lac de la Cavayère with its Forest Adventure Park, and hiking/cycling trails; swim in the River Sals with its natural hot springs; visit the casino at Alet les Bains; enjoy free wine tastings. We guarantee you will fall in love with area, as we have!
