It was always our aim to come and live in the Lot and open a B&B offering quality food. Renovating the house wasnt on the list of things to do but thats what we did! After 18months of working nearly every day on it, we were very happy to move in! When we bought the house it was very dark and a bit pokey so we added additional openings in the inside and outside to make it bright and spacious. We transformed the garage to a Dining Room with a new opening from the kitchen. The original kitchen was on the first floor so we dismantled the lot and made 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We then transformed the loft to a spacious attic suite. Then we tackled our accommodation in the adjoining annex. We have a big garden too so have been making flower beds and patio areas and now the house and the garden is transformed!
We both love the countryside, the outdoors, the sunshine and taking Coco for walks in the woods behind us. I was a keen cyclist back in the UK but whilst renovating the house didnt find the time! Maybe I will now! Eric loves football but again renovating the house took over! Eric loves cooking being a professional chef and I enjoy eating it! The garden is also a passion of ours, I adore all plants and now that we have a large garden plan to have a veg plot! Coco also loves it here and her passion is her frisbee! She won't go on a walk without it! So thats us!
St Pierre Toirac has many footpaths and trails so is popular with walkers, cyclists and runners. You may have to climb a bit but the views are wonderful. Anyone visiting the village is made to feel welcome and now that we have the pizza restaurant/bar its lovely to sit outside and see the workings of a country village and catch up with the locals. Cajarc is a favourite village of ours with its 'plan d'eau' and bars open in the summer on the river side, great for watching water ski-ing. It also has a lively market on a Saturday afternoon. In July it is host to the AfriCajarc music festival and the small town turns into a mini Glastonbury! In fact throughout July and August there is always a fête dû village to be found. There are many outdoor 'brocantes' too which is a nice way to spend a Sunday.
