Welcome to 'Oyan-zain-baita'. The owners Steffen and Susana, a German-Spanish couple, look forward to welcoming you to their renovated and typical farmhouse. The house and the barn was made into 4 comfortable holiday apartments, comes from the 18th century.
My name is Steffen Heckmann, I am running with my wife Susana for several years an old renovated farmhouse with 4 comfortable apartments (Maison-Oyan). With the good experiences we have made and the wish to settle in the region, I founded the company Baskenreisen. My goal is to offer hand-picked holiday accommodation in our so diverse region. I will provide you a travelguide about the cóte basque to make sure that you will make a great experience in your vacation.
It is a great location to meet the basque culture in France and in Spain. You can discover very typical villages like Ascain, Ainhoa, Sare or the picturesque city of Saint Jean de Luz. The whale fishers went to sea here hundreds of years ago. You will love the food, the traditions and the unique architecture embedded in a great nature. The house is located in a peaceful rural location with a nice view of the meadows and foothills to the Pyrenees, at the foot of the mountain 'La Rhune' (900 m), between the idyllic villages of Urrugne and Ascain (5 min.). Close to Atlantic Coast St. Jean de Luz (10 min), Hendaye (15 min), Hondarribia (Spain) (20 min.), Biarritz (20 min.), San Sebastian (España) (30 min.).
