We spent many happy hours as a family skiing on the Plein Soleil piste when our now adult children learned to ski, hence the name for our sunny, south facing apartment. We love the mountains of the Grand Massif in Winter, but equally love the summer and the wonderful variety of outdoor activities the Samoëns valley offers. Samoëns has stolen our heart!
You can easily walk into Samoëns village, a traditional French village that just happens to be next to a large ski resort. The village itself has kept it's traditional charms but embraces the tourist season by putting on many events throughout the year. The Wednesday market is not to be missed, plenty of choice for those cheese lovers out there or a place to get some souvenirs.
Samoëns is about a 1 hour transfer from Geneva airport. There is a ski bus stop in the village that will take you to the Grand Massif ski lift. A shopping service can be provided if you don't have a car but there are also small super markets in the village.
