Jard is a seaside resort with a human size. You will find bars and restaurants and many beaches nearby but at the same time it it not too busy. Over the years the town has transformed to include cycle & walking paths which make it easy for everyone. As a child I used to walk through the forest and always enjoyed ending up on the long beaches. Today I take my kids and my dogs. If you love seafood you will enjoy going to the nearby osyter farms in La Guittière or you can just walk to the shops, 2 minutes away from the house and pick and choose your local melon or delicious Noirmoutier new potatoes. If your 'thing' is an ice cream you can stroll to the port. And there is so much more to do in Les Sables d'Olonne or even a daytrip to Le Puy du Fou (1h10min drive).
