Haddington has long been thought of as the gateway to central Scotland lying close to the A1 and surrounded by agricultural land. This bustling town has excellent bus routes straight into the heart of Edinburgh and to other parts of East Lothian. Drem train station is only a 9 minute drive away and a 15 minute journey into Edinburgh or, in the opposite direction, the beautiful Victorian coastal town of North Berwick.
If you are visiting East Lothian for hiking, golf, cycling or trail running, Haddington and the surrounding area offers 12 beautiful trails. One of the best is the Riverside Walk which follows the Tyne as it winds its way around the town.
