Our caravan is well placed on a very quiet privately owned caravan park, there are no tents or tourers to spoil the peace and the loudest noise you will hear is the sound of bird song. The interior is modern and clean, you will find all your home comforts and previous guests have commented that it feels like there own holiday home. There is a village pub serving food straight across the road from the site with front and rear beer gardens. The onsite barn bistro re opens March 2022 under new owners. Please note the sofa bed is only available if you book for 5 or 6 people. We allow dogs on request, a small charge applies. Please do not attempt to charge electric vehicles from the caravan, this will cause the supply to trip/fail. Thankyou.

We moved to Gilcrux from Cockermouth in 2017, looking for a break from the traffic and town life, its is the best thing we have ever done, the village is so lovely and peaceful and the locals are really nice and welcoming. we enjoy walks in the countryside with our rescue beagle Coco, our children particularly enjoy the village green football pitch!

Gilcrux is a very peaceful neighborhood, a perfect base to explore both the lake district and also the beaches and coastline of the Solway Firth( an area of outstanding natural beauty), we can clearly see the mountains of Scotland across the sea, the sunsets are amazing and are visible from the lounge!
