Property information

A lovely country house set in a magical situation close to the shores of Loch Ken and the Galloway Forest Park accommodating 8, it provides everything for a perfect holiday. Local amenities can be found in Castle Douglas which is around 11 miles and New Galloway 6 miles.

Neighbourhood information

Loch Ken is in an area of outstanding beauty with steep, forested hills on one side and rolling farmland and woods on the other. It has a wonderful variety of wild life - notably nightjars, waterfowl, raptors ( including the reintroduced red kites), otters and deer (and an RSPB reserve nearby). The Galloway Activity Centre, across the loch, provides dinghy, canoe and windsurfer instruction and hire plus a variety of other outdoor activities. It is ideal area for a peaceful secluded holiday in an idyllic setting, but still with plenty of independent shops, pubs, restaurants.
