Property information

You enter into the property into the hand crafted kitchen, with dining table and seating for 2. The splash of green adds a touch of colour with the mix of natural materials. You have an oven, hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, DAB radio, kettle, toaster & butlers sink, everything you could need for self catering. Stairs lead up to the living space, with exposed beams, large picture window and french doors opening out onto the decked terrace and garden. The space doubles up as your lounge and bedroom with a very comfortable double bed, woodburner & Smart TV, a great place to relax and enjoy the quiet. Off of the living area is a modern wet room, with shower, hand basin, shaver point & WC. The decked terrace is a lovely spot to sit with your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening & enjoy the natural garden, which is fully fenced. Please note, the apartment is not centrally heated, we have one wall hanging electric radiator, an electric heated towel rail in the wet room and the woodburner, which once lit heats the whole apartment. A welcome basket of wood and kindling is provided in the store on the decking. Please always let us know if you are bringing a dog. We are happy to accept an infant under 2 years but you will need to bring your own travel cot and take extra care around the stairs to the kitchen and the wood-burner. Wifi speed - 866mbps PLEASE NOTE THE LIVING AREA IS ALSO THE BEDROOM.

Neighbourhood information

Applecote is perfectly situated so you can leave your car at the cottage and walk into town about 10-15 minutes on the way there, maybe 5 minutes longer on the return as uphill. Lovely trail footpaths on your doorstep if you love walking. Rye is a pretty medieval town with so much history but small enough to explore in a few days. The cobbled streets of the old citadel are like stepping back in time and no visit is complete without taking a photograph of the famous 'Mermaid Street' and having a drink in the 'Mermaid Inn', supposedly one of the UK's most haunted pubs! You can visit Rye Museum, The Heritage Centre and the Ypres Tower and don't miss the 'Quarter boys' striking every quarter of an hour at the famous St Mary's Church. Easily reached by train from London, so no car is necessary but if you do have one, take a trip to Hastings Old Town, 25 minutes away. Here you can enjoy a good mixture of old seaside charm, mixed with modern. Rye is the best place to stay and explore all that this region has to offer.
