This 17th Century, Grade II listed farmhouse combines exceptional, contemporary living with the traditional charm of a once-working farm. Layered with history, Atherstone Farmhouse tells a story of years gone by with its thatched roof, original stone floors, ancient oak beams and grand fireplaces.

Neighbourhood information

Ideally placed to explore it’s rural location, the cottage is on the doorstep of plenty of pubs, restaurants and things to do, most of which are accessible on foot or by bicycle. The tiny hamlet of Atherstone is home to some fantastic little inns that are worth stopping into; including the Barrington Boar, Dinnington Docks and the Lord Poulett Arms. The town of Ilminster is also not too far away, for convenient shopping trips to stock up on essentials. Barrington House, a National Trust house with gardens open to the public, is nearby, as is Dillington House. The Dennis Chinaworks in Shepton Beauchamp are also very close and worth a visit, for the tea rooms as much as anything else! There are several local cider producers including Perry’s Cider in Dowlish Wake and Julian Temperley’s cider and cider brandy distillery over at Burrow Hill. Just 40 minutes away, the beach at Lyme Regis and walks along the Jurassic coastline are well worth adding to your itinerary.
